In one line
InternPick is the platform schools use to run internships. The school runs the program and stays the school of record. InternPick provides and operates that platform, follows the access rules the school sets, and processes student data only as a school official under a written agreement.
Who does what
The school
- Invites staff, students, and hosts
- Approves placements and supervises students
- Keeps FERPA notices, consents, and board policy current
InternPick
- Provides and operates the InternPick platform, including sign-in
- Enforces the roles and settings the school configures
- Does not sell student data or use it for advertising
Students & hosts
- Students join through the school, not an open marketplace
- Hosts see schedule and hours; resume and phone stay private until the student opts in
- Education-record requests go to the school first
The documents, in order
1. Student Data Privacy Agreement
Student records. Makes InternPick a school official under FERPA, under the school’s direct control.
What InternPick is and is not: software and listings, not a school, employer, or placement agency.
3. Terms of Use
Rules for using the website and accounts.
How InternPick handles personal information for everyone on the site.
Essential cookies for sign-in. Analytics stay off until someone chooses them.
Who agrees to what
- The person who creates the school account agrees to the Student Data Privacy Agreement and the Platform Agreement for the whole school.
- Each staff member, student, and host employer later agrees to InternPick’s user terms for their own login. That does not change the school’s two agreements.
- School admins can read the school’s agreements anytime in Settings → Legal.
What InternPick.com is not
These limits are deliberate. InternPick.com provides and operates a platform. The school remains responsible for the internship program.
Not FERPA-certified
FERPA does not certify vendors. InternPick.com is a school official only when the school accepts the Student Data Privacy Agreement. The school still owns FERPA notices, consents, and board policy.
Not a school
InternPick.com is not the school of record. It does not enroll students, award credit or grades, or replace the school’s coordinators.
Not an employer
InternPick.com does not hire students and is not a party to any job or internship relationship between a student and a host employer.
Not an insurer
InternPick.com does not provide liability, workers’ compensation, or student accident insurance for placements. The school and host employer keep their own coverage and waivers.
Not a placement agency
InternPick.com does not assign students to workplaces or supervise job sites. The school approves placements and remains responsible for supervision.
Not SOC 2, SIS sync, or district single sign-on today
Those items are not available now. They are listed as later on the Compliance page so a school can see what is live versus planned.
